Successful modernization of an existing tower plantRecently Wiggert company had to handle a special task:
The modernization of an existing tower plant in which as much of the installed equipment should be reused. In addition, the comparably small aggregate storage should be enlarged. After extensive design and engineering work a technically feasible solution was found which materialized step by step over the following months.
In a first step a huge aggregate storage with weigh-belts and batching gates was set up; the aggregate storage features an enclosure with heating to protect the aggregate from atmospheric influences.
In a next step two pan mixers of older design were replaced by two modern planetary countercurrent mixers HPGM that were equipped with cement weighers and skiphoist. For efficient cleaning at the end of the workshift both mixers are provided with automatic mixer cleaning systems.
Also, all of the silos were modernized by overfill protections, radar level indicators and dust collectors so that they now incorporate state-of-the-art technology.
After the modernization the plant is equipped with a programmable control system permitting connection to a host computer; in addition, there is a monitoring system comprising colour cameras and screens.
A new twin-rail flying bucket system conveys the concrete discharged from the mixers also to the manhole production being installed at a distance of 110 m. |
